Message from the Board

Fall 2005

Greetings!

The peace movement is on a roll.   At vigil after vigil, rally after rally, we are finding more and more people from diverse backgrounds who are sympathetic to our cause.  And Congress is moving, too.  Our own Jim McGovern has introduced a bill to bring the troops home now.

Congress recently refused Bush's request for funding for the "bunker buster."

A majority of Americans believe the Iraq war was a mistake, and 82% of Iraqis want U.S. troops to leave.

And BringThemHomeNow.org is busy collecting signatures to put a measure on the Massachusetts ballot that would bring the National Guard home from Iraq.

It's up to us to keep talking to our neighbors about these matters, and to keep the pressure on our legislators to do the right thing.  Let's get to it!

Warmly,

Massachusetts Peace Action's Board of Directors
